ABSTRACT: Fifty-two consecutive athletic individuals who were not able to per

form the sport of their choosing, despite previous surgical Ireatment in thirty-seven, intensive rehabilitation of all fifty-two, and use of a derotation brace by thirty-five, were treated by the Five-One operation. Previous operations, infections, a loose somatotype, and failure to restore muscle power postoperatively were associated with failure.
