Rehabilitation of the shoulder.

Kolstad K, Tyler TF, Nicholas SJ.

Nicholas Institute of Sports Medicine and Athletic Trauma, New York, NY.

The exercise prescription is a continuum of rehabilitation phases based on scientific rationale, each ending by achieving a milestone before progressing. However, these milestones are by no means set in stone nor is every exercise distinct to that phase. The goals and milestones will need to be modified based on the performer, pathology, and performance demands. No exercise prescription should be viewed as protocol but, as guidelines which to base rehabilitation upon.
